Silver. 38.8mm. 36.0 grams. A similar medal to the Lower Canada Board of Arts and Manufactures medal, but produced from new dies. The obverse is not exactly a copy, but the industrious worker, woman, and the bust of Minerva obviously are made to look like Leroux-612 and Leroux-613. Upon close inspection there are clear differences in the quality of the craftsmanship. The finer details are not nearly as precise. More obvious differences include the coat of arms of the Province of Quebec and the legend around, which reads CONSEIL DES ARTS ET MANUFACTURES / COUNCIL OF ARTS AND MANUFACTURES with stars at 12 and 6 o’clock. The scroll below is inscribed PROVINCE / DE / OF / QUEBEC. The reverse is completely different from that of the other medals in this series.

This silver example survives in Uncirculated condition with deeply prooflike fields and attractive ice-blue, lavender, and golden-olive toning. Both sides are lightly wiped, but that does not have much of an effect on eye appeal. The upper star is repunched, and die cracks run through the C in COUNCIL, between OF, and from the rim to the upper right wreath leaves.
