Silver. 57 mm. 91.5 grams. Plain edge. Struck by Henry Birks & Sons to commemorate the 5th Congress of Chambers of Commerce of the Empire, held in Montreal from August 17 to August 20, 1903. The obverse shows the arms of Great Britain at centre surrounded by those of seven Commonwealth countries. The reverse exhibits a view of Montreal from the St. Lawrence River with ships in the foreground and Mount Royal in the background. Below is the Montreal Board of Trade building, which was opened as part of the convention. This example is free of rim nicks. Lightly toned in olive-gold patina. A scarce medal in silver.
