Faulkner Die State 1a with a rim cud on the reverse at 9 o’clock. Diagnostics include the Single H Mintmark, all of the Es on the reverse being nicked, the Cut-Knob &, and the uniform border beads. Deep brown surfaces exhibit moderate rub with strong detail overall. A small spot occurs over the L in COLONIES and a tiny scratch appears on the obverse above the bowsprit. The dark spot on the rear portion of the ship is a result of contact with the 2x2. A scarce variety.
