6.83g. Medal alignment. The Rutherford brothers operated stores in St. John’s and Harbour Grace. The 1846 tokens were issued by the latter store, as noted on the obverse. This is an example of the NF-1C2 variety with coarse wool, long hooves, and rosettes. There are no die cracks present. Strike detail is stronger on the obverse than it is on the reverse, where the highest points are incomplete. A trace of rub is present, but it is minimal. Glossy brown surfaces with reddish and golden elements.
